Al Sharpton...Snitch Extraordinaire

News has come out that old Al was a snitch for the FBI against New York mobsters. According to files received through an FOIA request, Sharpton began working with the FBI in the mid-80's and was known by the agency as "CI-7" which is short for confidential informant 7.

But here's the thing. Sharpton didn't just go to the Fed's and say, "Hey, I want to help you catch bad guys," and the Fed's didn't go to Sharpton and ask nicely for his help. Oh no, Sharpton was caught doing something and decided to become a snitch to get his worthless butt out of trouble. That's how it works. So what was Al up to that landed him in that much hot water?

But here's another thing to consider. Are we soon to be rid of this charlatan once and for all? According to the documents, audio recordings and court transcripts, Al assisted the FBI in securing court authorization to surveil two Genovese "family social clubs." Agents also used Sharpton's information to obtain a wiretap on Federico "Fritzy" Giovanelli's telephone. As a result, Giovanelli was sentenced to 20 years in prison for racketeering following a trial during which, those recordings were played for the jurors.

In a recent interview, Giovanelli, now 82, said that he was unaware that Sharpton had contributed to his phone's bugging in any way. But now that he knows, will something be done about it? Will Al finally meet his demise? It would be a very fitting end to such a race-baiting bigot, would it not? The very deed used to remove himself from hot water to be the very deed that causes his end?

Of course Al has come out, rather quickly I must say, to deny these "charges" and state that it is all false. Sounds like a man who knows the depth of the crap he has stepped in and is desperately seeking to remove himself from it. I intend to do some more digging. I would really like to know exactly what it was that old Al did in the first place.
